NGCSU Wesley Foundation - "Wesley House"

Welcome to the NGCSU Wesley website!

Meet our Staff!

Director/Campus Minister: David Griffith

As the director of the NGCSU Wesley Foundation I would like to say welcome to our website and I hope you come visit us soon and see what we're all about.

I grew up in Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Religion. After graduation and prior to coming to work at the NGCSU Wesley Foundation in June of 2008, I spent four years working in accounting and insurance, and four years working full-time in campus ministry at the University of Georgia Wesley Foundation and at the University of Central Florida Wesley Foundation.

My wife, Sara, and I are very excited to be here and to have the chance to get to know you and to pursue God together!

David

Associate Director: Harrison DeJarnett

Harrison has a passion for raising up worship leaders who can lead people to worship God in spirit and in truth. He was born in Marietta, GA but spent most of his youth in France as a child of missionaries. After returning to the States he attended the University of Georgia and became involved with the UGA Wesley Foundation. He served on staff there as a worship intern after graduating and has come to NGCSU to help us reach out to the students here with the good news of Jesus.

Harrison has a wide variety of interests including rugby and interpretive dance. In fact he considers himself quite the trendsetter in combining the two. Often you will find him alone with his favorite dance flag, dressed in his rugby uniform, running through the sanctuary while Michael W. Smith blares through the speakers.

Favorite Game: Bomp Stomp

Favorite Girl: Taylor Martin

Pet Peeve: Butterflies

Intern: Rachel Shearer

Rachel has been a part of the NGCSU Wesley Foundation since she was a freshman. She has served on the Leadership Team, as a community group leader and as an intern. She is returning for the 2010/2011 school year as a second year intern at Wesley where she will be overseeing the women's ministry while focusing specifically on freshmen girls. Her heart for the Lord is evident in all that she does and her willingness to serve others is an encouragement to all she meets.

Rachel cannot be stopped. One can only hope to prevent her from humiliating you when you compete against her in any game and then stomping you on the ground after she dominates you (although she does sometimes show mercy to small children when she is playing dodgeball with them but she does not show mercy to David when she plays him at Pounce even though he is small). But she is a RN so after she stomps you she can help to heal you.

Favorite Game: Whatever game she is playing because she is always winning

Favorite Song: It's Hard to be Humble

Thing that Makes Her the Saddest: When she remembers that one time in elementary school she lost in a game of 4 Square (but it was because another kid cheated)

(In this picture we have an action shot of Rachel playing and winning at Spoons. Here we also get a glimpse of her customary smirk that she wears while she destroys her competition. Note the poor young man in the background who has already been humbled and has chosen to sit this game out.)

Intern: Melinda Green

Melinda hails from Indiana but it was revealed to her that Georgia is the place to be so when she was 6 she decided to make the move. She loves baking and children, but not baking children. Melinda graduated form NGCSU in the spring of 2010 with a degree in early childhood education.

Melinda has been involved at the NGCSU Wesley Foundation for four years including three years on our Leadership Team. A large part of Melinda's role at Wesley is centered on prayer, which is her passion. She believes the Lord has called her to spend her life in prayer and intercession for the Body of Christ and for the lost and she has a desire to see others embrace a lifestyle of prayer.

Intern: Jesse Zauner

Jesse graduated form the nursing program at NGCSU and is a RN. She is currently finishing up her bachelor's degree in nursing. She was born and raised in Georgia though sometimes she leaves the state for a little while. She enjoyes competing in and teaching cheerleading as well as spending time outside. She also enjoys having her picture taken with garbage trucks as you can see below.

As an intern Jesse will be helping to oversee the women's ministry at Wesley. She also has a passion for helping the underprivileged, especially women in need.

(In this photo we get a glimpse of the joy Jesse experienced when she unexpectedly came across a garbage truck while skiing. When shown this picture she remarked, "I'll never forget that day!")
